Disappointment rises from the bottom of the heart,
Like a wispy vapor from smouldering coals
Burning the breast with utmost intensity.
With a bitter bite it flows through the body,
Setting the stomach sick
And leaving black tastes in the mouth’s tongue.
Disappointment dazes the head
With dizziness and fading ache,
But the scar burned deep into the heart
Stings ever with utmost intensity.
Hope struck the fire,
Anticipation fanned the flames,
Rejection put the fire out,
And disappointment rises from the ashes.
